Roam Gull

Privacy

Roam Gull uses Google Analytics to count visits. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, it stays off until you accept it. Last updated November 2, 2026.

Cookies and analytics

Google Analytics 4 records the pages you open, the page you came from, your language, your screen size and a rough location. It doesn't give this site your name. Advertising storage and ad personalization are off in the tag.

IP addresses: Google says it doesn't log or store individual addresses from users in the EU, Switzerland or the UK. It derives the location, then discards the address. Elsewhere, Google says it uses them for spam detection and coarse location, and discards the raw address after use.

Accept, and two cookies get set: _ga and one starting _ga_. They separate visitors and sessions. Google's default life is 2 years. Chrome caps that at 400 days, Safari at 7.

EEA, UK and Switzerland: a small notice asks first. Until you accept, or if you decline, the script doesn't load, no cookies are written and nothing goes to Google. Elsewhere: no notice, it runs from the first page.

To opt out: change your choice here, use Google's opt-out add-on, or block cookies in your browser. Google's terms are in its privacy policy.

Server logs

The web server keeps ordinary request logs. Those can include your IP address, the page requested, the time and your browser details. They're there to keep the site running and spot abuse.

Links to vendors

Links to vendor sites take you off Roam Gull. Once you're there, the vendor's own privacy policy applies, and some of those links are affiliate links. The affiliate disclosure explains those.

Calculator answers

The calculator keeps your country, days and data in the page address. They can show up in the server logs above and in Google Analytics, which records page addresses. There's no account and no name.
