Best eSIM for Europe compared

Ubigi and Airalo both sell 10 GB for 30 days across Europe, and Airalo's page counts 41 countries. Nomad and Holafly are the other two worth a look.

Most Europe trips cross a border, which is the whole reason to buy a regional plan. One eSIM, one install, no new plan at the Eurostar platform.

The matched pair

Ubigi and Airalo both sell 10 GB for 30 days. Ubigi's plan is $15 and Airalo's is $31, both read on the makers' pages and checked November 2, 2026. Same allowance, same validity, different bill.

Airalo's Europe page says one eSIM and one package cover 41 countries. I couldn't find a country count on Ubigi's plan list, so check its coverage list for your route before buying. Both are data only.

Airalo's FAQ says top-ups are available "in many cases". Ubigi's page says one-off plans can be topped up once the data is gone. Neither Europe page says whether hotspot works; Airalo's help page on tethering says it does where your device and the network support it.

Ubigi also lists a 7-day, 10 GB Europe plan at US$12, and an unlimited 7-day plan at US$23 (read on its page, November 2, 2026).

Nomad and Holafly

Nomad's Europe page, read November 2, 2026, displays euros. A 10 GB plan for 30 days is $23. The 3 GB plan for 30 days was displayed at EUR 10.75. Unlimited plans run 5 days (EUR 17.02) or 10 days (EUR 30.45). Nomad's FAQ says hotspot and tethering are supported. It offers a 35-country plan and a 36-country plan; the page lists Switzerland and the United Kingdom among the countries.

Holafly sells unlimited data for 7 days at $27.50. Its page says the Europe plan covers 33 countries, including the United Kingdom and Ireland. Hotspot is capped at 1 GB per day. The fair-usage fine print matters too, since Holafly's page says network policy can slow speeds for up to one day. The plan has no phone number. Holafly adds 1 GB of monthly backup data under its "Always On" feature while the eSIM stays installed.

Airalo's 15-day unlimited Europe plan costs $49. Its speed drops to 1 Mbps after 5 GB a day, per the plan data on Airalo's page.

How I'd choose

For two weeks of normal use, I'd buy a 10 GB plan and keep the top-up option in reserve. The price gap between Ubigi and Airalo is the main reason to prefer one. If you need hotspot, Nomad's FAQ gives a plain yes. Airalo's help page makes it conditional on your device and the network, and Holafly caps it at 1 GB a day.

Unlimited makes sense on a 5 to 7 day city break where you stream and navigate all day. On a longer trip, a large fixed plan has no daily limits to track.
